A Thousand Kisses Deep - Jazz Services rural tour

We are delighted to announce that the NRTF Jazz Services partnership has lead to 33 rural touring dates for Christine Tobin and her Thousand Kisses Deep tour.

Throughout Autumn and Spring 2013/14 Christine, Phil and Dave will be covering the entire country from Cornwall to the Pennines from Wales to Norfolk.

Rural audiences will be able to enjoy listening to the renowned singer Christine Tobin who has been a long time admirer and eloquent interpreter of Leonard Cohen's music. Cohen is now widely regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. Tobin is acknowledged both here and on the international scene as one of the finest interpreters of his work - as the Guardian's John L. Walters writes "Christine is inspiring on her own material but she is in a class of her own singing Leonard Cohen. Her 24 carat voice and captivating arrangements are spellbinding, ploughing the depths and expressing the poetry of his lyrics with unalloyed soulfulness”.

This new show brings together some Cohen staples previously recorded and performed by Christine and some new unexplored material. Together with long time collaborators Phil Robson guitar and Dave Whitford double bass they take you on a journey through Cohen's classic repertoire, with a few diversions to admire fellow Canadian songsmiths Joni Mitchell and Rufus Wainwright.

In addition to receiving an evening of world class musical entertainment Christine will be giving enlightening background information about the songs and sharing how Leonard
Cohen has influenced her own songwriting.
