…live arts on your doorstep!
Shindig is Worcestershire's programme of professional live performances in community venues. A network of 50 voluntary promoter groups choose the shows and sell the tickets in order to provide high quality, affordable and uplifting live arts on their doorsteps.
Promoters choose their shows from an annual Menu which includes a variety of regional, national and international performances of theatre, music, storytelling, dance, puppetry and more.
Shindig happens because of the hard work and enthusiasm of the volunteers and made possible by funding from each of the local authorities in Worcestershire and Arts Council England.
The scheme is managed by Live & Local who also manage community touring schemes in Warwickshire and Staffordshire (West Midlands) and Derbyshire (East Midlands). They also run rural cinema networks in those areas. Visit http://www.liveandlocal.org.uk to find out more.
