Professional Development Grants 2018

Grants for sector support, concentrating on community, personal and project development.

Priority criteria are as follows: -
o accessibility and disability lead work
o support of new and emerging talent
o working with young people
o diversity in the arts
o sustainability
o raising the profile of rural touring

Who can apply:
NRTF member Rural Touring schemes on behalf of voluntary promoters, voluntary board members, companies/performers who address one or more of NRTF’s priority criteria

PARTICIPATION GRANT: Brighton Fringe Village Hall 

Grants to support Rural Touring scheme staff & promoters attendance at the Brighton Fringe 2019 with an ambition to see rural touring ready productions you can program into your scheme. Can be used for travel, accommodation, tickets etc.

Awards maximum applied for:  £300 (budget required) 
Deadline:  Opens 1st Feb 2019 - Grant closes 5th April 2019 

Criteria:

  • Priority given to those who can attend the NRTF – How To: Rural Tour, event on 3rd May 10.30am. 
  • Priority given to those with an ambition to program more diversely
  • Priority given to those with plans to meet other national schemes and producers
  • Written report of trip and reviews of shows seen to be submitted
  • Payment made on invoice post trip on receipt of report/reviews

Application Form: Limited number of Grants.

PARTICIPATION GRANT: Edinburgh Fringe Village Hall 

Grants to support Rural Touring scheme staff & promoters attendance at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019 with an ambition to see rural touring ready productions you can program into your scheme. Can be used for travel, accommodation, tickets etc.

Awards maximum applied for:  £450 (budget required)
Deadline: Opens 1 April 2019 - Grant closes 28 June 2019.

Criteria:

  • Priority given to those who can attend the NRTF –Rural Touring in the UK, event on 16 August 11am. Fringe Central
  • Priority given to those with an ambition to program more diversely
  • Priority given to those with plans to meet other national schemes and producers
  • Written report of trip and reviews of shows seen to be submitted
  • Payment made on invoice post trip on receipt of report/reviews

Application Form: Limited number of Grants.
 

PARTICIPATION GRANT: NRTF Conference  

Grants to support attendance for Scheme staff and their Voluntary Promoters

Awards maximum applied for:  Up to 50% of your delegate fee on registration. 

Deadline:  Grant closes - 5pm, 24 May 2019

Criteria:

  • Priority given to those looking to work with other schemes and voluntary promoters
  • Priority given to those with plans to meet other national schemes and producers
  • Priority given to those with an ambition to program more diversely
  • Payment made post trip on receipt of review of the showcase
  • Limited number per scheme
  • Needs to be claimed within one month of conference end

Application Form: Limited number of Grants.

DEVELOPMENT GRANT: Programming 

Grants to support those wanting to programme work which explores NRTF’s key priorities

  • accessibility and disability lead work
  • Support of new and emerging talent
  • working with young people
  • diversity in the arts

Grants can go towards seeing shows, conferences based on priority topics, subsidy towards the trial of new genre of work, travel for meetings with other schemes, for project development, regional scheme meetings.
Trailing and exploring diversity and accessibility strategy for programming.

Awards maximum applied for:  £300 (budget required)  
Deadline: Grants Open 1st April 2019 - Closes 27th September 2019 (note: approximately 5 grants awarded) 

Criteria:

  • Priority given to those looking to work with other schemes and voluntary promoters
  • Priority given to those with plans to meet other national schemes and producers
  • Written blog post on what you did and how the bursary supported your initiative. To be between 200 - 400 words and include images 

Application Form: Limited number of Grants.

DEVELOPMENT GRANT: Organisational 

Grants to support those wanting to develop initiatives and policies working towards NRTF key priorities

  • sustainability (environmentally / organizationally)
  • scheme development
  • raising the profile of, and more opportunities for Rural Touring
  • working in collaboration with other schemes

Grants can go towards conferences on priority topics, bid writing, shadowing & mentoring, visiting other schemes, accessibility initiatives for spaces. Grants towards travel for meetings with other schemes for project development and regional scheme meetings.
