Mokume Gane with Polymer Clay Workshop
Mokume Gane is an ancient Japanese technique with a modern twist. Originally used by metalsmiths to make decorative hilts for swords, you’ll create similar woodgrain patterns by using polymer clay.
It’s a fun process with unexpected twists and turns, and once you’ve created your sheet of Mokume Gane clay, you can then make multiple items of your choice. There will be templates, shape cutters, and findings to make keyrings and jewellery, but you can also make small dishes or bowls. There’ll even be time to chat and by the end you’ll have acquired a new skill and a variety of beautiful creations to be proud of!
Helga will provide all the equipment you’ll need and you’ll leave with items that just need to be baked in a conventional oven at 90 degrees Celsius.
