RANAGRI with PLUMHALL
A very welcome return for Alt Folk band Ranagri who are 4 musicians combining flutes, whistles, Harps, bodhran/drums; guitars and bouzouki fusing celtic folk music with quality contemporary songwriting, enhanced by virtuosic instrumentals, vibrant rhythms, haunting melodies, interlaced with vivid storytelling.
Formed in 2013, they have recorded 3 studio albums at Grammy Award Winning label Stockfisch Records, with the acclaimed albums ‘Playing For Luck’ (2019) ‘Fort of the Hare’ (2014) and ‘The Great Irish Songbook’ with Tony Christie (2015). ‘Voices’ (2016) was recorded at Real World Studios and produced by Grammy-nominated producer Graeme Pleeth, and ‘Tradition’ (2016) both on Goatskin Records.
Ranagri are currently in the studio to record their next album ‘TRADITION II’ due for release in November 2021.
Their Festival performances include Cambridge, Gateway to Southwell, Wath, Lyme Folk Weekend, Trinity, Bloom and Purbeck. No strangers to large venues, Ranagri have performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall, Fairfield Halls, The Union Chapel, Buxton Opera House and Camac Harp Festival in France to name a few.
Opening the night are the Award winning songwriting duo PlumHall who are Michele Plum and Nick Hall. They have recorded 2 studio albums ‘Thundercloud’ and ‘The Ghost of Noise’ and also starred in, written and produced music to acclaimed film ‘TheRunaways’.
