Finding The Will

Number of shows

FINDING THE WILL was founded by Jules Hobbs and Richard Curnow in 2007. The company was originally formed to introduce Shakespeare to Primary Schools and, whilst this remains a core focus, FINDING THE WILL has expanded to produce, write and perform its own work. Currently Jules and Richard tour six monologues under the umbrella title of 'Bard Heads' exploring what may have happened next to various characters in Shakespearean plays in the weeks, months and years after the end of the play. They are also touring 'Naming The View' - a life affirming comedy inspired by The Taming Of The Shrew. In all cases, no prior knowledge of the original play is required. With years of Rural Touring experience, Richard and Jules know instinctively what makes a good night out in your local village hall. Audience reaction to their work bears this out too! “Incredible performance by 2 actors in minimalist setting. Hopefully you will get the play out there to a wider audience.." "Excellent performance, brilliant script, captivating.” Our Patrons Michael Rosen – Writer, poet, performer, broadcaster, Professor Children’s Literature, Goldsmiths, University London and Children’s Laureate 2007 – 2009 Bernard Cribbins OBE – passionate about drama for children and awarded the OBE in the 2011 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to drama. Sue Pritchard “The company’s contribution in de-mystifying the classic repertoire and creating the audiences of the future is invaluable.” The Lord Blair of Boughton and The Lady Blair “My wife and I have been Patrons of FINDING THE WILL since 2010 and are delighted to add our wholehearted support to the company’s unflagging efforts to bring Shakespeare to primary schools.”
