Mambo Jambo might just be the biggest acoustic duo you’ll ever see, a truly unique two-piece with their own rhythmic and joyful sound, a dozen or more instruments, male/female harmony vocals, a friendly stage presence, and a seemingly endless variety of roots, folk and jazz styles up their sleeves – Pete and Frankie have been gathering admirers at shows and festivals the length and breadth of the country. A fabulous musical treat is in store wherever they roll up, their tour bus packed to the brim with sax, guitars, banjo, clarinet, flute, accordion, Cuban tres, Brazilian ukulele, all kinds of percussion including suitcase and spoons, all expertly played.
Mambo Jambo have toured extensively on several of NRTF’s member schemes including Live & Local (3 times), Highlights, Arts Out West (twice), Creative Arts East, Northants Arts, Rural Arts ON Tour, Arts Alive, LiveLincs, Lincolnshire Rural Touring, Village Ventures, Centre Stage, AirInG, and this year, Villages In Action. https://youtu.be/fnEmcMCHWJg ( You Tube clip of a selection of material form a Live & Local concert
They've also toured libraries, and have written a Childrens Show that has been performed at theatres and festivals. Music and Storytelling is another specialism of theirs; They've written music for well loved stories and performed them in live settings. Recently they've produced two digital shows for children in conjunction with Concerteenies.
