About

Creative Arts East Live! works with a network of around 50 small-scale community venues in Norfolk and Suffolk. We are pleased to be working in partnership with Applause on their INN CROWD project, bringing exceptional live literature events to rural pubs. Creative Arts East Live! is the rural & community touring scheme for Norfolk and Suffolk working in partnership with volunteer promoters to bring outstanding live performance to a network of small-scale community venues in rural and underserved areas. Creative Arts East Live! is run by Creative Arts East, an arts and community development charity working across Norfolk, Suffolk and the East to deliver rural and community touring for live performance and touring cinema through our Village Screen scheme, alongside a portfolio of creative participatory projects. Creative Arts East Live! provides programming expertise, training, marketing support and financial subsidy to community promoters, so that they can select and promote local, regional, national and international artists in nieghbourhood venues that are welcoming and accessible. We programme for our promoters twice a year and hold an annual promoter event incorporating a small showcase of companies on the upcoming directory. We are currently working in partnership with Applause on a project entitled "INN CROWD" with artistic partners Writer's Centre Norwich and New Writing South with additional support from Pub is the Hub. "INN CROWD" is a strategic touring project that is developing a new network of rural pub venues to promote live literature performances. We are also working with Pentabus Theatre on a very exciting new commission for a rural touring show that will be developed in consultation with a group of our promoters. Linked to Creative Arts East Live! we also run a young promoters network, currently funded by Youth Music, which supports groups of young people to select a professional live performance that they would like to promote, participate in associated workshops and undertake a programme of training in event management. In addition to our live touring activity, Creative Arts East also runs a touring cinema scheme, Village Screen, supporting rural and disadvantaged communities to host cinema events in local venues, as well as a wide portfolio of participatory projects. Creative Arts East is proud to announce that we will continue to be an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation as of April 2018.
