About
As well as being the Southwest representative for the Society for Storytelling, I am a multi-disciplined professional artist with a background in street theatre, storytelling, illustration, drama and music. I live and work in Cornwall and have been telling stories, making theatre and running a wide range of workshops nationally and internationally for over 25 years. Storytelling I tell stories to the widest spectrum of audiences from pre school children to senior citizens, sometimes in the same session. I deliver story making and drama workshops and I also train and mentor others in storytelling skills. I work in schools, museums, libraries and theatres, as well as non conventional venues such as fields, woodlands and railway stations. I tour storytelling shows to clubs and festivals across the UK. I have taught storytelling to international students at the United World College in Flekke, Norway. I have many years' experience of working in schools ,enhancing curriculum subjects for students and training teachers in drama and storytelling skills. I have expertise in sensory storytelling for people with multiple and profound learning difficulties and used to train others in this through a London based charity, Bag Books. I have also told stories and delivered workshops for Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children's Books. I am very keen to take storytelling to new audiences and to this end, I used to run The Storycafé evenings at a number of very nice cafes and around the North East. I have Full CRB and Public Liability and am a member of Equity, the actors union, and the Society for Storytellers.
