ACE Strategic Touring Fund success for two of our member schemes!

We are delighted to announce that NRTF member schemes Applause, in partnership with Creative Arts East, have received support of £449,850 from Arts Council England Strategic Touring Fund to develop an exciting new project – Inn Crowd.

Inn Crowd will see rural pubs throughout the South East and East of England host high quality live literature events. The project is intended to help re-establish pubs as central to rural community life by bringing exceptional cultural experiences to new audiences.  

Inn Crowd honours the strong tradition of storytelling in pubs – Applause and Creative Arts East will collaborate with artistic partners Writers’ Centre Norwich and New Writing South to create a tour of specially devised and developed spoken word performances.

Applause and Creative Arts East are pleased to also be working with Pub Is The Hub, an organisation that helps landlords broaden their range of services for their communities, to establish a network of participating pubs across six counties.

Inn Crowd is ambitious – it covers a vast geographical area and offers exciting opportunities for rural pubs, the communities they serve and for talented live literature artists to perform to new audiences. We can’t wait to get started and are looking forward to seeing you in your local pub!
