Government publishes plan to ‘rebuild’ after COVID19
Yesterday the government published a 50-page document outlining how the country will move out of the current crisis into a recovery phase. Confusingly, there are some critical differences between these plans and the rules remaining in force in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and there has been much debate in the press and elsewhere about whether the overall policy is clear or muddled. NCVO demands transparency and speed in the distribution of £750m
Writing in a blog on NCVO’s website, Chief Executive Karl Wilding outlines the state of play with government support for charities during the pandemic, and demands that government: 1) explain how £160m of departmental funding is being allocated 2) set out the process and criteria for allocating funding and 3) provide immediate clarity on how the £370m funds to be distributed via the National Lottery Community Fund will be made available.
