How do you market to rural audiences? Is it different from marketing to urban audiences?
Audiences are just audiences – and they can be difficult to find wherever you tour, but there are some very specific ways in which Rural Touring is different.
In this hour-long presentation Stephanie Jessop, the marketing office for the Rural Touring Dance Initiative takes you through the ins and outs of marketing for rural touring. From why your leaflets should be portrait to the way you describe your show. Stephanie shares tips that will help improve your marketing across the board – wherever you are touring to.
This presentation was originally delivered at the 2019 Rural Touring Dance Initiative Lab, where dance companies selected for the RTDI are given a crash course into the world of Rural Touring. That does mean some of the information given is dance or even RTDI specific but the nuts and bolts covered are relevant to all art forms. We advise downloading the presentation to follow alongside the video.
